Golf in Cyprus

3destinations
7courses

Cyprus has few courses, but they are varied and often open onto the sea or the hills. The island's golf is centred on Paphos, on the south-west coast, where four 18-hole courses lie within half an hour of town: Eléa, designed by Nick Faldo, Aphrodite Hills, on two plateaus above the sea divided by a ravine, Minthis, on the heights of Tsada beside a 12th-century monastery, and Secret Valley, at the bottom of a valley of coloured rock. Further east, Limassol Greens, a Cabell B. Robinson layout by the Akrotiri salt lake, makes a day trip from Nicosia, the capital, which has no course of its own but deserves two or three nights for its old town and Venetian walls. In the north of the island, at Esentepe, Korineum climbs a hillside facing the sea at the foot of the Kyrenia range.

The best seasons are spring, from March to May, or from February around Paphos, and autumn, in October and November; winter stays mild but wetter, and the very hot summer is for dawn tee times only. Around Paphos, short distances make it easy to combine golf, the Roman mosaics of Nea Paphos and wine villages in a single trip. We arrange tailor-made trips there: reserved tee times, private transfers from Paphos or Larnaca, carefully chosen hotels and well-kept meze tables.
