Portmarnock Golf Club
- Architect: W. C. Pickeman
- Opened 1894
- 27 holes
- Par 72
Two insurance men, W. C. Pickeman and George Ross, rowed out to the Portmarnock peninsula one Christmas Eve to survey its dunes, then signed the lease on the land in October 1894. Today twenty-seven holes combine in three loops of nine, and the par-72 championship course has hosted the Irish Open many times, the Canada Cup in 1960 and the Walker Cup in 1991. Open to every wind off the Irish Sea, it is a straightforward, demanding links, suited to good players who like to walk.
Signature hole. The 15th, a par 3 added to the layout in 1927, has become one of the most famous holes on the course.
